Mortsafes were sold to higher society customers in the 1800’s as iron gate enclosures (or fences) to keep animals out and to prevent Resurrectionists (body snatchers) from stealing/selling the body. We pay homage to this practice by using clover style prongs to secure our coffin gem in its setting.
